Automotive Technician

A well-established automotive service business in South Australia is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic – European Vehicle Specialist to join its team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled automotive professional with strong diagnostic capabilities and proven experience working with European vehicles. The role involves servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical and vehicle systems while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across vehicle engines and components
• Service, diagnose and repair European vehicles
• Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking and electrical systems
• Dismantle and inspect engines, transmissions, steering systems and other mechanical components
• Identify worn, damaged or defective components and carry out necessary repairs or replacements
• Perform scheduled vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance
• Complete oil and filter changes, lubrication, fluid replacement and brake servicing
• Carry out engine tune-ups and related mechanical maintenance
• Reassemble engines and vehicle components following repairs
• Test and adjust repaired components to ensure correct operation and performance
• Use computerised diagnostic equipment and scan tools to identify vehicle faults
• Interpret fault codes, wiring diagrams, technical information and manufacturer procedures
• Conduct road tests and post-repair inspections following servicing and repairs
• Maintain accurate service, repair and diagnostic records
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a high standard of workmanship

• Relevant automotive mechanical trade qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Demonstrated experience servicing, diagnosing and repairing European vehicles
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proficiency using computerised diagnostic equipment and automotive scan tools
• Ability to independently diagnose faults and complete repairs
• Experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Volvo, Land Rover, Range Rover or similar European brands will be highly regarded
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation and manufacturer service information
• Current driver's licence
• Willingness to work full-time in South Australia
