Automotive Technician

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Automotive Technician to join a well-established independent automotive workshop in the Northland Region. This role provides a diverse range of work including vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and mechanical repairs across a variety of vehicle makes and models. You'll be joining a close-knit team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality workmanship.

• Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Perform diagnostics and fault finding on a range of vehicle makes and models
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high workmanship standards
• Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical issues
• Use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools safely and effectively
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety procedures
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and workshop team members
• Contribute to a positive, professional and team-oriented workshop environment
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
• Participate in ongoing training and skills development

• Proven experience as an Automotive Technician
• Dealership experience is highly regarded but not essential
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• NZQA Level 4 Automotive qualification or recognised overseas equivalent
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
