Baker

A busy and growing bakery and café business in Tasmania is seeking an experienced Baker to join their team.

The business is known for its fresh bread, pastries, cakes, café offerings, and high-volume pie production supplied to both retail and wholesale customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about baking and interested in working within a supportive and creative team environment.

Pastry cooks and chefs willing to learn baking are also encouraged to apply.

• Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of bakery products including breads, pastries, cakes, and pies
• Maintain consistency and product quality by following recipes and production standards
• Assist with sourdough and specialty bread production
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and wholesale orders
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Collaborate with bakery, café, and production staff to ensure smooth daily operations
• Contribute ideas and creativity to product development where appropriate

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in baking or pastry production
• Knowledge or experience with sourdough highly regarded
• Cake decorating skills advantageous
• Pastry cooks or chefs willing to transition into baking considered
• Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
• Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment
• Reliable, hardworking, and professional approach
