The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Café Manager with strong hands-on barista skills to lead a busy hospitality venue in Queensland. This role is suited to a confident hospitality professional who can combine café operations, team leadership, customer service and event coordination.

You will take responsibility for the daily running of the venue, maintain high coffee and service standards, support menu development, and help deliver memorable customer experiences through regular events and community-focused activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily café operations across a five-day working week, including weekends
  • Lead, coach and roster baristas and front-of-house team members
  • Prepare high-quality coffee and train staff in barista techniques and beverage standards
  • Maintain consistent service, coffee quality and presentation standards
  • Develop seasonal menus, daily specials and beverage offerings
  • Plan and coordinate live music, pop-ups, private functions and other venue events
  • Coordinate with suppliers, performers and external service providers
  • Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders and control operating costs
  • Assist with basic financial reporting and cost-of-goods management
  • Maintain food safety, workplace health and hygiene standards
  • Ensure the café remains clean, organised and welcoming
  • Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
  • Build strong relationships with regular customers and the local community

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of proven café or restaurant management experience
  • Strong hands-on barista experience with espresso machines and beverage preparation
  • Diploma in Hospitality for sponsorship eligibility in Queensland
  • Minimum 3 years of Australian hospitality management experience completed after obtaining the required diploma for sponsorship eligibility
  • Strong leadership, communication, rostering and time-management skills
  • Experience with event coordination and menu development is advantageous
  • Understanding of stock control, cost of goods and basic financial procedures
  • Customer-focused, reliable and professionally presented
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as required
  • Current food-safety certification
  • Valid local work rights or eligibility for
