Carpenter Leading Hand

The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in coordinating on-site activities, maintaining quality standards, ensuring workplace safety, and delivering projects on time and within scope.

• Supervise and coordinate carpentry activities across residential and commercial construction projects
• Lead and manage carpenters, labourers, apprentices, and subcontractors
• Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate project execution
• Coordinate project schedules, labour allocation, and resources with management teams
• Carry out hands-on carpentry work including framing, roofing, cladding, and finishing tasks when required
• Train and mentor apprentices and junior carpenters
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, workplace safety requirements, and quality standards
• Organise and monitor materials, equipment, and tool requirements
• Conduct regular site inspections and maintain safe, clean, and efficient work areas
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Provide leadership, accountability, and operational direction on site
• Track project progress and report completion milestones across multiple projects

• Proven experience as a Carpenter Leading Hand or Senior Carpenter
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• White Card
• Valid driver's licence
• Own carpentry tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
