Chef

A busy hospitality business in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Chef to join its commercial kitchen team.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced kitchen environment focused on delivering high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. The successful candidate will work as part of a professional team preparing a variety of international and fusion cuisine.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with sponsorship support available for suitable international candidates.

• Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a high standard
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Assist with stock control, storage, and stock rotation
• Minimise food wastage and maintain portion consistency
• Support efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Follow company recipes and operational procedures
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen, OR
• Level 4 or higher qualification in Cookery or Culinary Arts
• Experience with Asian and/or international cuisine preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong teamwork, organisation, and communication skills
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Reliable, professional, and able to work under pressure
