The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to join a busy and professional kitchen team in New South Wales. This opportunity is suited to an experienced chef who can confidently manage a kitchen section, maintain high food-quality standards and perform effectively during busy service periods.

The role offers a stable 38-hour rostered week, modern kitchen facilities, professional development opportunities and a strong focus on work-life balance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior chefs, kitchen apprentices and front-of-house staff to deliver consistently high-quality meals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate an allocated kitchen section such as larder, grill or pans
  • Complete daily mise en place and preparation to required standards
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes consistently during busy services
  • Follow recipes, portion controls and established kitchen procedures
  • Maintain food quality, presentation and consistency throughout service
  • Work collaboratively with senior chefs and other kitchen team members
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices when required
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff during service
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen workstation
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Assist with stock rotation, storage and general kitchen organisation
  • Contribute positively to a professional and cooperative kitchen environment

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen
  • Experience in clubs, hotels, restaurants or similar food-service environments is highly regarded
  • Strong knife skills and sound knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Ability to manage an allocated section efficiently during busy services
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and professional attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Willingness to complete a 6-month probationary period before sponsorship consideration
