The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an accomplished Head Chef to take the lead at a major new hospitality venue opening in New South Wales in December 2026.

The venue will offer a vibrant, family-friendly environment with a busy bistro and bar, beer garden, children’s play area and dedicated sports bar. The successful Head Chef will take ownership of the kitchen operation from opening day, build and develop a team of 20+ kitchen staff, and help establish a modern, commercially successful food offering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality leader looking to make a significant impact while joining an established hospitality business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a kitchen team of 20+ staff
  • Recruit, train, mentor and develop kitchen team members
  • Take full responsibility for daily kitchen operations
  • Manage high-volume food preparation and service
  • Develop modern, commercially successful pub-style menus
  • Maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Manage food costs, labour costs, purchasing and stock control
  • Monitor kitchen performance and operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety and HACCP requirements
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and organisation
  • Coordinate effectively with venue management and front-of-house teams
  • Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen culture
  • Help deliver an outstanding guest experience from opening day

Requirements & Eligibility

  • 2–3 years of experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen leadership position
  • Proven experience managing a large-scale pub, hospitality or high-volume kitchen
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a substantial kitchen team
  • Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations
  • Strong financial, budgeting and cost-control skills
  • Experience with menu development and food costing
  • Excellent leadership, communication and team-management skills
  • Passion for quality food and locally sourced produce
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and workplace health and safety
  • Relevant commercial cookery qualifications
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume hospitality environment
  • Willingness to relocate to regional New South Wales
