Climbing Arborist

We are seeking two skilled Climbing Arborists to join a professional tree care team operating across the Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. This is a great opportunity for experienced arborists who take pride in high-quality tree work, safe work practices and professional standards.

The role offers a varied workload across commercial, rural and residential projects, including technical tree removals, reductions and large-scale tree care. Sponsorship is available for suitable overseas candidates, with support available for those relocating to New Zealand.

• Carry out professional tree climbing and arboricultural work across commercial, rural and residential sites
• Perform tree reductions, pruning and technical removals
• Undertake large-scale commercial tree work and smaller residential projects
• Assess trees and work requirements before commencing each job
• Use climbing, rigging and specialist arboricultural equipment safely and effectively
• Complete complex tree removals using appropriate rigging and dismantling techniques
• Operate and maintain arboricultural machinery and equipment where required
• Work as part of a professional tree care team while maintaining high-quality standards
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and established site controls
• Protect existing trees, vegetation and surrounding property wherever practical
• Maintain and care for PPE, climbing equipment, tools and machinery
• Participate in regular training and skills development
• Support emergency and callout tree work when required
• Maintain reliable attendance and professional conduct on all jobs

• Level 3 or Level 4 Arboriculture qualification, or equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated experience as a climbing arborist
• Strong tree climbing and aerial work capabilities
• Experience with tree rigging and technical removals
• Ability to work safely at height and handle physically demanding outdoor work
• Class 1 New Zealand driver's licence essential
• Class 2 or heavy transport licence is an advantage
• Reliable, honest and safety-focused approach to work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a professional arboriculture team
• Willingness to undertake further training and qualifications where required
