Electric Motor Winder - Electrical Engineering Technician

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Electric Motor Winder to join a well-established industrial electrical services company in New South Wales. This full-time position involves the repair, assembly, testing and overhaul of electrical rotating equipment for a diverse range of industrial clients. Working within a modern workshop environment, you will be responsible for motor rewinds, diagnostics, repairs and testing of AC and DC motors and related equipment. • Perform rewinding of low-voltage AC motors, DC motors and alternators
• Disassemble and assemble electric motors and rotating electrical equipment
• Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and condition assessments
• Strip motors and accurately record winding data
• Interpret winding information and determine rewind specifications
• Carry out static electrical testing and inspections
• Perform repairs, component replacement and refurbishment work
• Complete final assembly, testing and quality assurance checks
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate job documentation
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and workshop standards
• Work independently to manage workloads and meet project deadlines

• Certificate III or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnology, Electrical Fitting, Motor Winding/Rewinding or a related discipline
• International qualifications and equivalent trade certifications are welcome
• Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in motor winding and rewinding may be considered in place of formal qualifications
• Demonstrated experience working with AC motors, DC motors, alternators and rotating electrical equipment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to accurately record and interpret winding data
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Current driver's licence preferred
