Electrical Linesman and crane/borer oprator

A specialist electrical infrastructure contractor is seeking experienced and motivated professionals to join its overhead powerline teams in New South Wales.

Opportunities are available for Distribution Linesmen, Crane Borer Operators, Transmission Linesmen and Transmission Trade Assistants. The roles involve electrical distribution and transmission projects across urban and rural environments, with work covering everything from pole installation and line construction through to transmission structure erection and stringing.

• Study and interpret electrical drawings, network line diagrams and maps
• Dress and stand distribution poles
• Undertake pole replacements and associated construction activities
• Install and construct overhead electrical distribution networks
• Carry out mains stringing and related linework
• Perform electrical transmission line construction activities
• Dress and erect transmission poles and H structures
• Assist with transmission tower construction and erection
• Climb transmission poles, towers and other electrical structures
• String conductors and complete associated overhead line activities
• Operate crane/boring equipment where appropriately qualified
• Undertake maintenance inspections of electrical transmission networks
• Identify and resolve workplace and construction-related issues
• Perform minor ancillary electrical infrastructure work as required
• Follow company HSE procedures, quality systems and client requirements
• Work safely around electrical infrastructure, plant and construction equipment
• Travel to project locations and undertake short periods away from home when required
• Work additional hours and overtime when required
• Work collaboratively within a fast-paced and changing team environment

• Construction White Card
• Valid driver’s licence
• Demonstrated ability to identify and solve workplace problems
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Willingness to travel to project locations
• Willingness to undertake occasional away-from-home work
• Experience in electrical distribution or transmission linework for relevant positions
• Relevant overseas electrical linework experience will be considered
• Certificate III in ESI – Transmission and Distribution Overhead is preferred but not essential
• Work at Heights qualification is preferred but not essential
• Current CPR certification is preferred but not essential
• Dogging qualification is preferred but not essential
• Rigging qualification is preferred but not essential
• High Risk Work Licence is preferred but not essential
• Crane or plant operation experience is advantageous for Crane Borer Operator positions
• Existing authorisation to operate plant within the power industry is advantageous
• Ability to meet Australian workplace and safety requirements
