Finishing Carpenter/Joiner

A well-established commercial construction company in New Zealand is seeking highly skilled Finishing Carpenters or Joiners to join their growing team.

The role focuses on finishing carpentry, joinery, high-end residential work, and detailed construction projects within a dynamic team culture.

• Carry out finishing carpentry and joinery work to a high standard
• Install trim, mouldings, cabinetry, doors, staircases, and detailed woodwork
• Construct and install flooring systems, wall frames, and ceiling frames
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Carry out measurements, levelling, and setting out tasks
• Operate carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment safely
• Conduct demolition and general carpentry duties where required
• Repair and maintain existing timber fixtures and structures
• Work safely at heights and follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Coordinate effectively with site supervisors and team members
• Maintain company equipment, tools, and worksites professionally

• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Finishing Carpenter or Joiner
• Experience in high-end residential or cabinet-making joinery preferred
• Strong finishing and detailing skills
• Ability to use carpentry machinery and tools confidently
• Good understanding of construction safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Positive attitude and willingness to grow professionally
• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience preferred
