First Class Machinist

An established Australian engineering and manufacturing company is seeking experienced First Class Machinists to join its growing team in Western Australia. The company services major industries including mining, energy, marine, and defence, delivering high-quality precision-engineered components for critical applications.

• Program, set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centres
• Operate and maintain manual lathes and machining equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Select appropriate materials, tooling and machining methods
• Manufacture and assemble precision metal components
• Monitor machining processes to ensure quality and accuracy
• Identify and troubleshoot machine and tooling issues
• Perform routine machine maintenance and inspections
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements
• Maintain production quality and efficiency standards

• Trade qualification in Metal Machining or a related field
• Minimum three years of post-trade machining experience
• Experience operating CNC lathes and machining centres
• Experience with Okuma machines and One-Touch programming highly regarded
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of machining practices and tolerances
• Forklift licence advantageous
• Driver's licence advantageous
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
