Fitter / Turner and Welder
The Opportunity
What this Christchurch employer wants is clear, a Fitter / Turner and Welder who is genuinely dual-skilled, with solid years in heavy engineering behind them and the ability to work from technical drawings without hand-holding. The business, founded in 2017, builds, refurbishes and services cranes and lifting gear across New Zealand from its workshop and out in the field.
Candidates who stand out will show both trades in action, such as parts they machined, structures they welded and faults they tracked down on lifting machinery. Crane or hydraulics exposure gives you an edge. The role is open to people with the legal right to work in New Zealand or those willing to undergo the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) process, the employer-sponsored option.
