The Opportunity

An established flooring business in Queensland is seeking two experienced Floor Layers to join its installation team. The role covers residential and commercial projects, including new builds and ongoing retail and commercial work.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for skilled flooring professionals with proven experience in carpet and/or vinyl installation

Key Responsibilities

Measure work areas and read plans to calculate material requirements
Remove existing floor coverings and prepare subfloors to Australian Standards
Install broadloom carpet, including underlay, gripper, seaming and stretching
Install carpet tiles
Install luxury vinyl plank flooring
Cut, fit and finish trims, thresholds and edges
Complete flooring repairs and rectification work
Maintain vehicles, tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Communicate professionally with customers, builders and team members
Follow workplace safety and installation standards

Requirements & Eligibility

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Floor Layer
Proven experience installing broadloom carpet and/or luxury vinyl plank
Strong floor preparation skills
Current driver's licence
Current construction White Card
Good communication and customer service skills
Reliable and physically fit for flooring installation work
Ability to work independently and as part of an installation team
Commercial sheet vinyl experience, including welded seams, coving and wall vinyl, is highly regarded
Advanced floor preparation experience is highly regarded
Floating floor and engineered timber installation experience is highly regarded
