Heavy Diesel Mechanic

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced and qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a professional heavy vehicle workshop in Victoria.

This hands-on role will see you working across the servicing, repairs, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and warranty work of heavy vehicles and trailers. You will have the opportunity to work with leading heavy vehicle brands while contributing to a workshop environment focused on quality workmanship, safety, professionalism and customer service.

• Service, repair and maintain heavy diesel vehicles and trailers
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
• Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance
• Perform warranty repairs and related workshop work
• Conduct inspections and identify vehicle faults
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve technical issues
• Repair and replace faulty vehicle components
• Complete repairs to a high standard of workmanship
• Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Follow workshop procedures and manufacturer specifications
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and workshop staff
• Participate in ongoing technical and dealership training

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Previous experience working on heavy vehicles and trucks
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience with leading heavy vehicle brands is highly desirable
• Ability to perform servicing, repairs and maintenance independently
• Strong attention to quality and workmanship
• Ability to work effectively as part of a professional team
• Commitment to workplace safety and workshop standards
• Willingness to undertake ongoing technical training
• HC Licence is desirable
• Automotive Air Conditioning Licence is desirable
