The opportunity

From where a recruiter sits, this employer wants a maker rather than a manager. A premium bespoke joinery business that has served clients in the south of New Zealand's South Island for over 30 years is hiring after a recent retirement, and Queenstown is the nearest main centre. The Joiner position is full-time and permanent, 40-44 hours a week.

Reading the duties, the focus is bench work: high-end joinery and household cabinetry built to a very high standard, worked from technical drawings, with some installation on top. Planning matters too, because issues need solving throughout each project to keep delivery on time.

To stand out, lead with your trade qualification (kitchen cabinetry at minimum) or your three years of proven joinery-associated work, and give an example of how you keep the rest of the team informed. The employer holds AEWV accreditation and can sponsor the right international candidates into permanent employment in New Zealand.

Shape your CV around the bench work here: name the cabinetry you have manufactured, the finishes and the installs you have completed. write a bench-joiner CV in Build AI CV before you send it.
