Light Vehicle Mechanic

A leading automotive dealership group in New Zealand is seeking a Fully Qualified Automotive Technician to join its growing team. The successful candidate will work across light vehicle, hybrid, and EV mechanical and electrical systems while benefiting from ongoing training, modern workshop facilities, and long-term career development opportunities.

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on light vehicles, EVs, and hybrid vehicles
• Perform mechanical and electrical fault finding and troubleshooting
• Complete PDI inspections and WOF inspections
• Diagnose and repair automotive electrical systems
• Maintain accurate workshop documentation and job records
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high industry standards
• Work collaboratively with workshop staff and management
• Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines

• EV Technician certification or equivalent high-voltage safety qualification
• Minimum 3–5 years post-qualification experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Clean driver’s licence preferred
• Good attention to detail and strong safety practices
• Must provide own hand tools
