Maintenance Fitter

A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters with a background in Pulp & Paper manufacturing to join its high-performing maintenance team in Victoria, Australia.

You will work within a large-scale manufacturing environment, supporting critical plant equipment and ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of production operations.

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, gearboxes, and bearings
• Carry out mechanical repairs, adjustments, and equipment overhauls
• Assist with machinery installation, commissioning, and upgrade projects
• Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with electrical, production, and operations teams
• Conduct risk assessments and follow safe work procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
• Assist with fabrication and welding tasks where required
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent international qualification
• Previous experience working within a Pulp & Paper manufacturing environment is essential
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with conveyors, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, bearings, and industrial machinery
• Exposure to PLC-controlled manufacturing environments
• Ability to work effectively with electrical and production teams
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
• Willingness to relocate to Victoria, Australia
• Eligible for employer-sponsored visa programs
• Experience using maintenance management systems such as SAP is advantageous
• Fabrication and welding experience is desirable but not essential
