Management Accountant

An established and privately owned construction business is seeking a capable Management Accountant to join its growing finance team in New South Wales.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this broad role offers exposure across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial systems and process improvement. You will play an important role in supporting financial performance and decision-making within a dynamic, project-based construction environment.

• Complete month-end procedures, reconciliations and general ledger management
• Prepare accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reports
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including overhead budgets
• Manage daily cash flow activities and contribute to broader cash flow forecasting
• Prepare financial analysis and ad hoc management reports
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Improve and streamline finance processes to support efficient reporting
• Work across finance systems and system integrations
• Support financial and project-related initiatives alongside the CFO and finance team
• Provide financial insights to support business operations and decision-making

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
• Strong accounting fundamentals and practical month-end experience
• Experience with management reporting, budgeting or forecasting
• Strong Excel and financial systems capabilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance and operational teams
• Construction industry experience is advantageous
• Jobpac experience is advantageous
• Suitable for candidates moving from Big 4 or mid-tier audit or Business Services into a commercial role
• Suitable for candidates with approximately 6–12 months or more of commercial accounting experience
• Working Holiday Visa candidates may be considered
• Willingness to work in New South Wales
