Key Responsibilities
- Transport fresh produce and keep the truck operating and maintained
- Walk around and inspect the truck thoroughly before and after each trip, raising any issue
- Confirm before every departure that loads and straps are restrained to National Heavy Vehicle Standards
- Keep the truck tidy, complete the required checks and file the reporting
- Hold accurate records of produce carried, delivered and returned, with logs kept as company procedures require
- Stick to safety guidelines and all health and safety policies
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current unrestricted MC licence - essential
- High Risk Work Licence - essential
- A track record of two years driving trucks
- Experience with, and the ability to drive, a manual road ranger transmission
- A willing, hands-on approach to a broad spread of duties, plus a strong work ethic
- Comfort with a 7-day roster and start times that vary
- A detail-minded approach that keeps paperwork accurate
- Working knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation and regulations, including load restraint, and of basic mechanics and maintenance
- Tautliner, tipper or fresh produce transport experience is highly regarded
