The Opportunity

An established and highly successful motorcycle dealership in the Wellington region is seeking a qualified Motorcycle Mechanic to join its busy service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is passionate about motorcycles and takes pride in delivering high-quality servicing and repair work.

The workshop services a wide range of motorcycles and ATVs, covering road bikes, off-road bikes, competition machines, leisure vehicles, commuter motorcycles, and utility ATVs. Working within a small and dedicated team, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive professional, reliable, and efficient service.

This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive remuneration package. The business operates five and a half days per week, and Saturday work is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on motorcycles and ATVs
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance-related faults
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Repair and replace defective components and systems
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
  • Conduct final quality checks before vehicle handover
  • Communicate repair requirements and recommendations clearly
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Work independently while contributing to overall team performance
  • Assist with workshop scheduling and workload management as required
  • Support continuous improvement of workshop processes and service quality

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised qualification in Motorcycle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related trade
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing motorcycles
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and engine systems
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to work rostered Saturday shifts
  • Current driver's licence preferred
  • Experience working on multiple motorcycle brands and models advantageous
  • Ability to meet standard employment and workplace requirements
