The Opportunity

Join a well-established, family-owned automotive repair business with more than 65 years of experience servicing the wider Otago region. This opportunity is suited to an experienced Panel Beater / Repair Technician looking to work in a modern workshop equipped with the latest repair technology.

You’ll have exposure to a wide range of vehicle repairs, including structural and prestige work on brands such as Tesla and Jaguar Land Rover. Ongoing I-CAR certification training, professional development and long-term growth opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete quality and professional vehicle repairs within allocated target hours
  • Check all parts for accuracy and condition before commencing repairs
  • Trial-fit parts and report incorrect, missing or additional parts promptly
  • Follow job sheets, repair methods and production instructions accurately
  • Seek clarification when repair procedures or instructions are unclear
  • Complete repairs to required quality, safety and company standards
  • Ensure all listed repair items are completed before vehicles move to the Paint Department
  • Label stripped vehicle parts with the relevant job number
  • Store removed parts in the allocated parts bay and document their location
  • Place parts requiring painting with the vehicle once repairs are completed
  • Check headlight adjustment, final alignments and other adjustments during reassembly
  • Complete final quality checks and sign off completed work
  • Work efficiently while maintaining a consistently high repair standard

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Trade Certificate equivalent to Level 3 or Level 4, or at least 3 years of relevant technician experience
  • Proven experience as a Panel Beater or Vehicle Repair Technician
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a professional team
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Currently living in New Zealand and/or holding a valid work visa, where applicable
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
