Planner/ Architectural Draftsperson

Join a growing multidisciplinary consulting firm in NSW as a Planning / Architectural Draftsperson. This role is suited to a detail-focused professional who can combine accurate architectural drafting with planning knowledge and project coordination.

You will work primarily on residential and medium-density projects, including the assessment and documentation of existing buildings affected by fire, tree and vehicle damage. The position involves site measurements, preparation of detailed architectural drawings, planning documentation and development application submissions.

• Prepare accurate architectural drawings for residential and medium-density projects
• Measure existing buildings and translate site information into detailed drawings
• Produce preliminary architectural and structural layouts to support design development
• Prepare Statements of Environmental Effects and Waste Management Plans
• Review applicable LEPs, DCPs and other local planning requirements
• Prepare and lodge Development Applications through relevant planning portals
• Monitor and assist with the DA process from preparation through to submission
• Coordinate with external consultants including heritage, bushfire, stormwater, structural, civil, surveying and arborist specialists
• Maintain consistent drafting standards and drawing office practices
• Use AutoCAD for 2D drafting across model space and paper space
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements
• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants and internal team members
• Manage multiple tasks independently while meeting project deadlines
• Contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the business

• Previous experience in architectural drafting, planning or a related discipline
• Highly proficient in 2D AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of architectural plans and drafting practices
• Experience preparing planning documentation and Development Application submissions
• Knowledge of LEPs, DCPs and residential planning requirements is highly regarded
• Ability to accurately measure existing buildings and produce detailed drawings
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with Adobe software is advantageous
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, consultants and colleagues
• Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic approach to work
• More experienced architectural drafters are encouraged to apply

• Relevant qualifications and professional experience
