The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Restaurant Manager / Duty Manager to join the leadership team of a well-established hospitality venue in Queensland. This full-time, hands-on role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences while leading high-performing teams.

You will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and front-of-house services, ensuring efficient operations, outstanding guest satisfaction, and compliance with hospitality standards. Working closely with the kitchen and management team, you will help drive operational excellence, staff development, and business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front-of-house teams and supervise daily shifts
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bar, and hospitality services
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer enquiries professionally
  • Coordinate with the kitchen regarding daily service, menu updates, and event requirements
  • Manage reservations, seating plans, and event operations
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering with suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), workplace health and safety, and food safety requirements
  • Train, mentor, and support front-of-house team members
  • Manage cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and operational reporting
  • Maintain high standards of venue presentation and customer experience
  • Assist with staff rostering and labour management
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and venue operations

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum three years of experience as a Restaurant Manager, Duty Manager, Shift Supervisor, or similar hospitality leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Experience working in a busy hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures
  • Understanding of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), workplace health and safety, and food safety requirements
  • Current RSA certification
  • Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) certification is preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and peak trading periods
  • Commitment to maintaining high service standards and creating a welcoming guest experience
