A leading Australian heavy vehicle and agricultural equipment business is seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join its growing team in Queensland. The role involves diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, repairs, rebuilds and breakdown support across heavy commercial vehicles. Ongoing technical training, career development and a strong focus on professional standards are offered.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and technical faults on heavy commercial vehicles
Perform servicing, preventative maintenance, repairs and rebuilds
Complete work to manufacturer specifications and required quality standards
Inspect and check completed work for accuracy and safety
Complete job cards and workshop documentation correctly
Attend roadside and offsite breakdowns as required
Participate in an on-call roster
Work collaboratively with workshop personnel and support apprentices
Share technical knowledge and assist with apprentice development
Provide professional and reliable customer service
Follow workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
Maintain high standards of workmanship across all assigned jobs

Requirements & Eligibility

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification or relevant mechanical qualification
Relevant experience working on heavy commercial vehicles
Strong diagnostic, mechanical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team
Good communication and customer service skills
Current car licence
HR licence is desirable
Forklift licence is desirable
Kenworth or DAF experience is desirable
Experienced overseas and interstate truck mechanics are welcome to apply
Second to fourth year mechanic apprentices may also be considered
Willingness to undertake ongoing technical training and professional development
