Welder / Fabricator

A growing New Zealand manufacturing company is seeking experienced Welder / Fabricators to join its production team in the Manawatū region.

This is a hands-on role working within a modern and well-equipped workshop producing custom fabrication projects including service bodies, trailers, canopies, hydraulic tanks, toolboxes, and specialised metal products. • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Measure, cut, shape, fit, and assemble metal components
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
• Fabricate products to high standards of finish and accuracy
• Grind, polish, sand, and detail finished products
• Operate fabrication equipment and workshop machinery safely
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
• Work independently and within a team to meet production deadlines
• Support continuous improvement and positive workshop culture

• Minimum 1 year relevant experience as a Welder / Fabricator OR recognised trade qualification
• Strong MIG and TIG welding capability
• Experience working with aluminium and stainless steel
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
• Good fabrication, layout, and assembly skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
• Physically capable of carrying out welding and fabrication duties
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test if required
• Forklift licence and additional welding tickets advantageous
