Air-Conditioning Refrigeration Mechanic

A leading commercial and industrial services company in Queensland is seeking skilled HVAC and Refrigeration professionals to join its growing team. The role provides the opportunity to work across commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, coolrooms, specialist ventilation, chilled water systems and commercial catering equipment. Candidates with transferable experience from mechanical, maintenance, construction, manufacturing and related trades may also be considered for suitable apprenticeship and career pathways.

• Install, service and maintain commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Carry out preventative maintenance and fault-finding on HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Work on commercial and industrial cooling systems, including coolrooms and freezer rooms
• Install, maintain and repair commercial catering equipment
• Install and service specialist ventilation systems and commercial kitchen exhaust infrastructure
• Work with chilled water systems and larger commercial HVAC installations
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults associated with HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Perform scheduled servicing, repairs and system commissioning
• Work safely and efficiently across commercial, industrial and government projects
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
• Work collaboratively with experienced technicians and project teams
• Follow workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
• Participate in ongoing skills development and technical training

• Relevant qualifications in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electrical or a related trade
• Relevant industry experience in commercial or industrial HVAC and refrigeration
• Strong practical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work across varied commercial and industrial environments
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
• Candidates with transferable experience in construction, mechanical trades, maintenance or manufacturing may also be considered
• Apprenticeship pathways may be available for suitable candidates with transferable skills
• Ability to meet Australian employment and visa requirements
