The opportunity

This Gold Coast employer is recruiting qualified Electrical Fitters, and the shortlist will favour people who can show real time on electric motors, rewinding and equipment rated for hazardous areas. Flameproof experience in particular stands out, together with solid assembly, testing and fault-finding skills.

Applicants from oil and gas, mining, construction or industrial maintenance are encouraged, and if your experience comes from a related industry the employer is open to a conversation about suitability. The role is full-time in Queensland, and visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical equipment and fit it into place
  • Run tests and diagnose faults on electrical equipment
  • Repair, maintain or rewind electric motors
  • Work on equipment for hazardous areas, including flameproof units, and complete industrial electrical installations and maintenance
  • Keep industrial electrical installations maintained

Requirements and eligibility

  • Qualified as an Electrical Fitter
  • Experience covering electrical equipment assembly and fitting
  • Experience covering electrical testing and fault finding
  • Experience repairing, maintaining or rewinding electric motors, or alternatively with hazardous-area or flameproof equipment
  • Prior motor rewinding or flameproof background highly regarded
