An excellent opportunity is available for a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Fitting & Machining to join a leading aviation engineering organisation in Queensland. Working within a high-performing maintenance team, you will be responsible for the manufacture, assembly, repair, and maintenance of aircraft components and mechanical systems to the highest safety and quality standards.

This role combines traditional fitting and machining activities with modern CNC machining capabilities, supporting the ongoing development of technical expertise, manufacturing precision, and operational efficiency. • Manufacture, assemble, repair, and maintain aircraft components and mechanical systems
• Perform fitting and machining tasks in accordance with engineering specifications and maintenance requirements
• Operate conventional machining equipment and CNC machinery to produce precision components
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturing instructions
• Ensure all maintenance and manufacturing activities comply with aviation standards, regulations, and company procedures
• Maintain high levels of workmanship, quality assurance, and safety compliance
• Accurately complete maintenance records, reports, and supporting documentation
• Inspect components and completed work to ensure adherence to required tolerances and specifications
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and engineering team
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and operational teams to meet production schedules
• Contribute to the ongoing development of workshop capabilities and technical expertise
• Participate in shift work and support operational requirements as needed

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting and Machining) or equivalent qualification
• Relevant trade qualification in aircraft engineering, aircraft maintenance, or a related mechanical discipline
• Demonstrated experience in fitting and machining within a precision engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or aviation environment
• Experience operating lathes, milling machines, CNC equipment, or similar machining technology
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Strong understanding of precision measurement techniques and working to tight tolerances
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures, quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience working within safety-critical industries such as aviation, defence, mining, rail, manufacturing, or heavy engineering is highly regarded
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• Flexibility to work shifts and support operational requirements
• Eligibility to work in Australia or qualify for employer-sponsored visa programs
