Baker

We are looking for experienced Artisan Bakers to join a growing bakery team in the Otago region of New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern, high-volume artisan bakery producing premium handcrafted breads using traditional baking methods and quality ingredients.

You will be part of a skilled and supportive team, producing a wide variety of breads from scratch while maintaining exceptional product quality and food safety standards. • Prepare and bake a variety of artisan breads from scratch
• Mix, ferment, shape and bake dough using traditional baking techniques
• Produce sourdough, baguettes, burger buns, pretzels, specialty breads and seasonal products
• Monitor dough development and product quality throughout production
• Maintain consistent product standards in a high-volume bakery environment
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
• Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently
• Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet daily production targets
• Assist with maintaining a clean and organised production area
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and product quality

• Minimum 3 years of commercial bakery experience
• Experience producing artisan breads from scratch
• Knowledge of traditional bread-making techniques including mixing, fermentation and baking
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Formal baking qualification is preferred but not essential
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including mornings, afternoons, nights and weekends
