The Opportunity

Recruiters filling kitchen roles in Queenstown, New Zealand, are now looking for two Commis Chefs for a hotel bar and restaurant with a hearty, rustic menu. Both positions are permanent at 30 hours a week.

The employer is looking for cooks who have done this kind of work before. That means experience in a similar position, confidence on an à la carte menu, and either an NZQCF Diploma or at least three years of relevant experience. Late nights, weekends and public holidays come with the job, and the team is small and close.

To stand out, match your application to the listed duties: breakfast and conference cooking, careful plating, dairy-free and gluten-free dishes, HACCP and waste control. Mention any safe food handling certificate, since it is an advantage. The employer can potentially offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Tailor your CV to these duties line by line. Use Build AI CV to shape your commis chef CV for Queenstown so the right experience shows first.
