A family business growing broadacre crops near Griffith, NSW is recruiting a full-time Diesel Mechanic. Key responsibilities

  • Keep every machine on the farm serviced and in working order
  • Check equipment for wear and damage with diagnostic testing
  • Source replacement parts and work out what has gone wrong when a machine fails
  • Drive out to machines that fail in the paddock and repair them on site when work is at its peak
  • Look after the workshop and the stock of spare parts
  • Stay in close contact with machine operators and managers, and occasionally guide newer staff
  • Log servicing and operating details

Requirements and eligibility

  • Diesel Mechanic qualification, or a solid hands-on background in the work
  • Self-directed in how you work
  • Calm when problems need solving quickly
  • Time on farm or heavy machinery is preferred
  • Dependable when the season peaks
