Diesel Mechanic

A leading agricultural business in New South Wales is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its modern broadacre cropping operation. This is an opportunity to work beyond a traditional workshop role, taking responsibility for maintaining a diverse fleet of agricultural machinery, heavy vehicles, and farm equipment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring machinery reliability throughout the cropping season, supporting daily operations through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and field breakdown support.

• Manage servicing, maintenance, and repairs of agricultural machinery, trucks, and farm equipment
• Diagnose mechanical issues and complete fault finding using inspection and testing procedures
• Identify worn or damaged components and carry out repairs, replacements, and upgrades
• Attend field breakdowns and complete mobile repairs during busy farming periods
• Maintain workshop facilities, tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory
• Support machinery operators and provide technical assistance when required
• Record maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance information
• Work with modern agricultural machinery including tractors, harvesters, sprayers, air seeders, and support vehicles
• Assist with workshop organisation and contribute to improving maintenance systems
• Collaborate with farm management and team members to minimise machinery downtime

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Experience working with agricultural, heavy machinery, trucks, or similar equipment preferred
• Strong mechanical diagnosis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Reliable and committed approach, especially during peak agricultural seasons
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to work in a rural farming environment in New South Wales
