Duty Manager

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within a busy licensed hospitality venue in the Northern Territory. This is a senior operational role where you will take responsibility for venue operations during rostered shifts, lead hospitality and gaming teams, maintain high customer-service standards and ensure all compliance, security and financial procedures are followed.

The successful candidate will be confident managing a fast-paced licensed environment and capable of taking charge as the senior manager on duty. The role involves regular night, weekend and public-holiday shifts.

• Manage daily operations across bar, bistro, gaming, Keno, TAB and functions
• Act as the senior manager on duty and provide leadership and direction to employees
• Allocate duties and supervise, train and support hospitality staff
• Assist with staff rostering, workforce planning, performance management and development
• Maintain compliance with liquor licensing, gaming, responsible gambling, food safety and WHS requirements
• Manage venue opening and closing procedures, security, keys and restricted areas
• Oversee cash handling, tills, floats, safe balances, gaming transactions and shift reconciliations
• Ensure responsible gambling and harm-minimisation procedures are consistently followed
• Handle customer complaints, behavioural issues, security matters and operational incidents
• Coordinate functions, entertainment and promotional activities during rostered shifts
• Monitor stock levels, venue presentation, cleanliness, equipment and maintenance requirements
• Prepare accurate shift reports, incident reports and management documentation
• Implement company policies, operational procedures and service improvements
• Maintain a safe, professional and welcoming environment for customers and employees

• Relevant AQF Diploma-level qualification or equivalent with at least one year of relevant full-time-equivalent experience, or a minimum of three years of relevant full-time-equivalent experience in licensed-club, hotel or hospitality management
• Demonstrated experience supervising employees in a busy licensed hospitality environment
• Strong understanding of licensed venue and gaming operations
• Proven cash-control, reconciliation and venue-security experience
• Strong leadership, customer-service and conflict-resolution skills
• Good written communication and operational reporting abilities
• Current Northern Territory Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
• Current Responsible Service of Gambling training or willingness to obtain the required training
• Current NT Gaming Machine Manager licence preferred, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one
• Ability to satisfy applicable licensing, probity and right-to-work requirements
• Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Ability to meet applicable qualification, experience, English-language and visa requirements where sponsorship is required
