Event and Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Events professional to lead the planning and delivery of major sporting events in Western Australia. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of large-scale events, build strong partnerships, support commercial growth, and create outstanding experiences for participants and the wider community.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee event operations from planning through to delivery while identifying opportunities to increase participation, strengthen partnerships, improve event quality, and generate revenue.

• Lead the planning and delivery of major sporting events from concept through to completion
• Manage relationships with sponsors, partners, suppliers, contractors, volunteers, and key stakeholders
• Support sponsorship activation and partnership development initiatives
• Identify opportunities to increase participation, revenue, engagement, and event quality
• Coordinate event staffing, contractors, volunteers, logistics, and on-ground operations
• Work closely with marketing teams on event promotion and communications
• Support the delivery of State Series and Championship events
• Provide hands-on leadership and operational support during event days
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to timelines and detail
• Resolve operational challenges and make effective decisions under pressure
• Contribute to broader organisational projects and strategic initiatives
• Support the continued growth and development of major sporting events

• Proven experience in event management or a related field
• Experience delivering events or managing multiple projects
• Strong stakeholder relationship and communication skills
• Experience working with sponsors, partners, suppliers, or commercial stakeholders
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of revenue and growth opportunities
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure
• Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Willingness to take a hands-on approach to event operations
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required
• Strong member and customer-focused approach
• Event management or related professional experience is essential
• Availability to work in Western Australia
