Experienced Agricultural Diesel Mechanic

An established agricultural machinery business in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Agricultural Diesel Mechanic to join its permanent full-time team.

This role is ideal for a trade-qualified heavy diesel mechanic with strong experience servicing and repairing agricultural machinery used across cropping, livestock and mixed farming operations.

You will work across both workshop and field environments, maintaining tractors, combines, sprayers, seeders, trucks and other heavy agricultural equipment.

• Diagnose, repair, service and maintain heavy diesel agricultural machinery
• Service and repair tractors, headers, combines, sprayers, air seeders and related equipment
• Work with major agricultural machinery brands including John Deere, Case IH, New Holland and Claas
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Carry out field repairs during planting and harvest seasons
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and drivelines
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and precision agriculture components
• Use modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools to identify faults
• Fabricate, modify and repair machinery components where required
• Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records
• Follow workplace health and safety, environmental and quality standards
• Work independently in both workshop and rural field environments
• Participate in seasonal on-call rosters when required
• Maintain machinery reliability and minimise equipment downtime during critical farming periods

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of post-trade experience
• Strong hands-on experience with agricultural and farming machinery is essential
• Experience with broadacre cropping, livestock or mixed farming equipment is highly desirable
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively in workshop and field environments
• Physically fit and comfortable working in rural conditions and seasonal environments
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English
• Current driver's licence, with HR licence highly regarded
• Reliable, safety-conscious and proactive approach to maintenance and repairs
