Farming Manager

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced farming leader to take ownership of large-scale agricultural operations across major farming properties in Western Australia.

This senior role is focused on cropping, pasture, fodder production, land development and overall farm performance. You will have significant responsibility for developing farm strategies, managing budgets, improving productivity and delivering long-term value across extensive agricultural assets.

Working within a vertically integrated agricultural and beef supply chain, you will collaborate with agronomy, livestock and operational teams to support efficient fodder production and sustainable land management.

The position offers an attractive package of approximately $150,000 base salary, a new dual-cab vehicle, a five-bedroom on-farm family residence and performance-based bonus opportunities.

• Lead and develop a team of farm overseers and machinery operators
• Manage large-scale cropping, pasture, fodder and irrigation operations
• Develop and implement annual farm plans, seasonal programs and production strategies
• Manage farm budgets, forecasting, cost control and capital expenditure
• Monitor productivity, crop and pasture performance and operational costs
• Manage cropping programs including oats, barley, wheat, vetch and irrigated sorghum
• Work closely with agronomists to improve crop performance, soil health and pasture development
• Coordinate fodder production to support wider livestock and feed operations
• Identify and deliver capital projects that improve productivity and long-term asset value
• Drive the use of precision agriculture, GPS technology and digital farm management systems
• Implement sustainable land management and soil improvement practices
• Manage workforce planning, staff development and performance
• Maintain strong safety, accountability and continuous improvement standards
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and external service providers
• Build effective relationships with internal agricultural and operational teams
• Take ownership of both operational performance and financial outcomes

• Proven leadership experience managing farming operations
• Experience in cropping, livestock or mixed farming environments
• Strong understanding of agricultural production systems and modern farming practices
• Sound knowledge of farm machinery, agronomy, chemical use and weed management
• Experience managing farm budgets, production targets and operational schedules
• Competence with GPS, precision agriculture and digital farm management systems
• Ability to lead, coach and develop agricultural teams
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agribusiness or a related field is highly regarded
• ChemCert or equivalent qualification is advantageous
• Current Australian driver's licence required
• HR or MC licence is advantageous
• Strong planning, communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of large-scale farming operations
• Ability to meet Australian employment and visa requirements
