Field Service Technician

A leading agricultural machinery business in the Waikato region is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join its growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing agricultural machinery both in the workshop and on customer sites. • Diagnose faults and perform repairs on agricultural machinery, tractors, and related equipment
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs
• Use electronic diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
• Provide professional field service support to customers at various locations
• Complete service reports, job records, and required documentation accurately
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service
• Perform troubleshooting and technical problem-solving on modern machinery systems
• Attend ongoing technical training and development programs
• Work independently while effectively managing daily service schedules
• Communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding repairs and maintenance requirements
• Support workshop operations when required

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Automotive Technician, or equivalent trade qualification
• NZQF Level 4 qualification or higher in a relevant diesel or heavy automotive field preferred
• Proven experience servicing agricultural, heavy diesel, or mobile machinery
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
• Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment
• Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems
• Ability to work independently and manage field service responsibilities
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Professional work ethic with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to complete paperwork and service documentation accurately
• Physically fit and capable of working in field environments
• Valid driver's licence
• Experience with agricultural machinery and tractors highly desirable
• Experience with harvesting equipment is advantageous but not essential
