Panel Beater

A well-established automotive business in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join its busy workshop on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern collision repair equipment while carrying out high-quality vehicle body and chassis repairs to manufacturer standards.

• Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods
• Plan and carry out vehicle body repair processes
• Remove damaged panels and vehicle components
• Repair and realign vehicle chassis and structural components
• Operate measuring and alignment equipment
• Repair damaged panels using hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Perform welding, riveting and bonding of replacement panels
• Work with steel, aluminium and plastic vehicle components
• Apply filler compounds and prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards
• Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
• Keep accurate records of completed repair work

• Relevant trade qualification in Panel Beating, Automotive Refinishing, Collision Repair or equivalent
• Minimum three years of proven panel beating experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
• Demonstrated experience in structural vehicle repairs
• Experience with chassis alignment and measuring systems
• Strong welding skills including MIG, TIG or equivalent methods
• Ability to work with steel, aluminium and composite vehicle materials
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
