Fire Technician / Carpenter

An established passive fire protection business in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Fire Technician / Carpenter to join its growing team.

This hands-on position is suited to a qualified or experienced carpenter, fire technician, or tradesperson with an interest in developing a long-term career in passive fire protection. The role covers both service and construction projects across commercial, residential and industrial environments.

The successful candidate will work on fire-rated doors, passive fire protection systems, fire stopping, penetration sealing, maintenance and rectification works while working to Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications.

• Install, repair and replace fire-rated doors and door sets
• Carry out fire door maintenance, adjustments and compliance works
• Install and rectify passive fire penetrations
• Complete fire stopping and penetration sealing works
• Install passive fire protection systems
• Carry out defect rectification and general carpentry works
• Perform service and maintenance work at existing client sites
• Complete construction and new installation projects
• Read and follow plans, specifications and installation requirements
• Complete all work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications
• Work safely and professionally across different commercial, residential and industrial sites
• Record completed works, defects and relevant site information accurately
• Work collaboratively with technicians, project teams and service personnel
• Maintain professional communication with clients, colleagues and site representatives

• Relevant experience in carpentry, passive fire protection, fire doors or a similar trade
• Practical trade skills with strong problem-solving ability
• Good attention to detail and understanding of compliance requirements
• Ability to produce high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, organised and professional approach to work
• Current Australian driver's licence or ability to obtain one where applicable
• Construction White Card
• Carpentry qualification will be highly regarded
• Previous experience with fire doors, passive fire penetrations or passive fire protection systems will be highly regarded
