The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join a premium hospitality team in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. This full-time position is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences across multiple food and beverage outlets.

You will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, room service, executive lounge, conferences and events while leading and supporting a high-performing team. This role offers excellent career development opportunities within a well-established international hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily food and beverage operations across multiple service outlets
  • Lead service during busy meal periods, conferences and special events
  • Coach, mentor and support food and beverage team members
  • Conduct pre-service briefings and provide on-the-job training
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally resolve guest enquiries
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation
  • Coordinate conference and event service according to operational requirements
  • Monitor staffing levels and assist with roster planning
  • Manage cash handling, guest billing and shift reconciliation
  • Assist with stock control, inventory management and ordering
  • Promote upselling opportunities to maximise departmental revenue
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, front office and other departments
  • Support continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum three years' experience in food and beverage operations within a hotel, restaurant or premium hospitality environment
  • At least one year of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Experience handling guest concerns and resolving issues professionally
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Experience using POS systems, cash handling and shift reconciliation
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Experience in four or five-star hotels is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of conference and events operations is an advantage
  • Experience with international hotel brands is desirable
  • Current liquor licensing qualification or ability to obtain one is advantageous
