Waitstaff and Bar Staff

An exciting new gastropub is preparing to open in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty region, creating an opportunity for experienced Bartenders to join the opening team. We are seeking three passionate hospitality professionals who can deliver quality beverages, excellent customer service and a welcoming experience in a busy gastropub environment.

This role offers the opportunity to become part of a new venue from its launch, with a professional working environment, training and career development opportunities.

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails, beer, wine and spirits
• Provide friendly, professional and efficient customer service
• Maintain strong knowledge of beverage menus, ingredients and cocktail preparation
• Operate POS systems and process customer payments accurately
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory rotation and stock control
• Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate beverage supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar, equipment and service areas
• Follow responsible alcohol service practices and applicable New Zealand requirements
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling
• Work effectively with the wider hospitality team during busy service periods

• Minimum 2 years of relevant bartending experience
• Practical knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine and spirits
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Professional and positive approach to customer service
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as rostered
• Applicants must meet applicable New Zealand immigration requirements
• Overseas applicants may be considered for sponsorship under the AEWV pathway, subject to eligibility, job check approval and immigration requirements
• Where an English test is required, applicants must meet current Immigration New Zealand English language requirements or qualify for an accepted exemption
