Heavy Diesel Mechanic

A leading provider of mechanical services to the mining, civil and heavy transport industries is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its growing team in Western Australia. Multiple roster options are available, with opportunities to work in either a workshop-based role or as a field service technician.

• Service, repair and maintain heavy diesel equipment used in mining, civil and transport operations
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic methods
• Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
• Perform breakdown repairs in both workshop and field service environments
• Inspect equipment and identify repair requirements
• Complete maintenance records and service documentation accurately
• Work safely in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures
• Operate independently while effectively managing assigned tasks
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality maintenance services
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile equipment, mining machinery or heavy road transport vehicles
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
• Mine site experience or dealership experience is highly regarded
• Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Atlas Copco, Epiroc or Sandvik equipment is advantageous
• Experience with heavy truck brands such as Hino, Fuso, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack or Freightliner is desirable
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Heavy vehicle licence is highly regarded
• National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
