Leading Hand Cabinetmaker

A well-established cabinetry and joinery business in Queensland is seeking two experienced Leading Hand Cabinetmakers to join its growing production team.

This is a predominantly factory-based leadership position suited to a trade-qualified Cabinetmaker who can lead a small team while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity and workplace safety.

You will work closely with cabinetmakers and apprentices to keep workshop production organised and efficient, while also contributing hands-on to the manufacture and assembly of quality cabinetry and joinery.

• Lead and support a small team of cabinetmakers and apprentices
• Coordinate daily workshop activities and maintain efficient production flow
• Monitor production quality, workflow and output
• Manufacture and assemble high-quality cabinetry and joinery
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications
• Operate workshop machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure cabinetry and joinery work meets required quality standards
• Assist team members with technical and production-related tasks
• Support installations when required
• Maintain a clean, organised and productive workshop environment
• Promote and follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Help identify and resolve production issues
• Work collaboratively with the wider production team to meet deadlines

• Trade-qualified Cabinetmaker with Certificate III or equivalent qualification
• Strong practical experience in cabinetmaking and joinery
• Previous Leading Hand, team leader or supervisory experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with cabinetry manufacture and assembly
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
• Ability to safely operate relevant workshop machinery and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to lead, support and motivate a small team
• Positive attitude and reliable work ethic
• Ability to work effectively in a busy production environment
• Willingness to work predominantly in a factory-based role
