Maintenance Fitter

A well-established manufacturing business in Western Australia is seeking a skilled and trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join its maintenance team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter with FMCG, food manufacturing or high-volume production experience to secure a stable long-term position in Western Australia.

The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining production equipment, reducing machinery downtime and ensuring the facility continues to operate safely and efficiently. The position offers exposure to a wide range of mechanical systems and production machinery, together with a structured Monday-to-Friday rotating shift roster.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and fixed plant
• Perform reactive and breakdown maintenance to minimise production downtime
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production equipment
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and scheduled maintenance activities
• Fault-find mechanical systems and identify potential equipment failures
• Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings and pneumatic systems
• Support machinery changeovers, equipment upgrades and improvement projects
• Assist with identifying recurring mechanical issues and implementing reliable solutions
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
• Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
• Ensure machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently
• Follow workplace health and safety, food safety and site procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement and a proactive maintenance culture

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, Mechanical Fitting or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter in an FMCG, food manufacturing or high-volume production environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
• Experience maintaining automated production machinery and fixed plant
• Sound knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a maintenance team
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, equipment reliability and quality
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Practical, hands-on approach to mechanical maintenance
• Ability to work rotating day and afternoon shifts
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience is highly desirable
