Maintenance Fitters & Electrical Fitter Mechanic

Exciting opportunities are available for Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitters and Electrical Fitter Mechanics to join the maintenance team at a highly automated food manufacturing facility in Australia.

These hands-on roles focus on maintaining advanced production equipment, responding to breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance and supporting shutdown and improvement activities.

• Respond to machinery breakdowns and equipment faults
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment
• Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of production machinery
• Identify equipment failure root causes and implement long-term solutions
• Repair and replace machinery components
• Perform electrical fault finding and repairs on automated equipment
• Work with PLC-controlled machinery, VSDs and automated production systems
• Support production teams to minimise equipment downtime
• Assist with maintenance projects and planned shutdown activities
• Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams
• Maintain high standards of workplace safety, food safety and quality
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility

• Recognised Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification for mechanical roles
• Certificate III Electrical qualification or Electrical Fitter Mechanic trade qualification for electrical roles
• Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience for electrical applicants
• Strong mechanical or electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems
• PLC experience, with Allen Bradley and Siemens knowledge preferred
• VSD or variable speed drive experience for electrical roles
• Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence
• High Risk Electrical Work Licence desirable for electrical applicants
• MEX or other Maintenance Management System experience desirable
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour rosters including days, nights and weekends
• Australian trade qualification or recognised equivalent required for sponsorship consideration
