The opportunity
Recruiters screening for this Metal Casting Trade Worker role in Christchurch, New Zealand will look for one thing before anything else, and that is real sand moulding. The hiring company makes marine propulsion systems used in more than 120 countries, and it wants moulders who bring five-plus years of hands-on work in a production foundry.
To stand out, mirror the duty list in your application. Show floor and track moulding in resin sand, core making, pouring, knock-out and fettling, then name the alloys you have cast. Aluminium, AB2 aluminium bronze and Stainless Steel are all poured on this site, so breadth across alloys counts in your favour.
Be upfront about shifts as well. The roster covers 6:00am–2:30pm, 7:00am–3:30pm, 2:30pm–10:30pm and 3:30pm–11:30pm across Monday to Friday, plus nights of 10:30pm–6:30am or 11:00pm–7:00am from Sunday to Friday, and you have to be free for any of them. A new pattern always comes with two weeks' notice or more.
The company is an accredited employer in New Zealand's AEWV system, so sponsorship of a visa application may be supported for suitably qualified candidates.
A recruiter reads a foundry CV for proof, so give each past job its alloys, moulding methods and the crane, forklift and inspection work you handled. tailor your moulder CV to this duty list with Build AI CV.
