Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a growing civil construction team in Queensland (QLD). This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional to take a leading role in delivering major infrastructure and construction projects.

The position operates on a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster and offers an attractive package including base salary, superannuation, project uplift, work vehicle and KPI bonus.

• Ensure project works are delivered safely and in accordance with company and client requirements
• Ensure construction activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, budgets and project timeframes
• Oversee project activities under the direction of the Project Manager
• Prepare, monitor and update project plans, programs and schedules
• Provide engineering and technical advice to project teams
• Manage and raise technical queries as required
• Assist with the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and key project resources
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance against project requirements
• Ensure project quality requirements and quality control systems are maintained
• Assist with construction programming, planning, sequencing and coordination of works
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance
• Prepare monthly financial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Work closely with project stakeholders to identify and resolve construction issues
• Maintain strong safety standards throughout all project activities

• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 7 years' experience in an engineering capacity on civil infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of civil construction and infrastructure projects
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural and services drawings
• Experience managing and raising technical queries
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, planning and sequencing
• Experience managing subcontractor and supplier budgets
• Understanding of Quality Control Systems
• Strong project coordination and communication skills
• Excellent safety record across previous construction projects
• Ability to work on a 2/1 DIDO/BIBO roster
