The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join a well-established hospitality group operating multiple successful dining venues in New Zealand. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys leading teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational excellence.

You will oversee all front-of-house operations, manage and develop staff, maintain compliance with industry regulations, and contribute to the ongoing success and profitability of the business. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily front-of-house operations
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Supervise, mentor, and support Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and FOH staff
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and manage team performance
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve escalated issues professionally
  • Coordinate restaurant bookings, private functions, and special events
  • Manage ordering, stock control, stocktakes, and cash handling procedures
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, liquor licensing, and employment legislation
  • Monitor operational performance, financial reports, and key business KPIs
  • Implement strategies to improve service standards, team performance, and profitability
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and high-performing workplace culture
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to achieve business objectives

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of hospitality industry experience
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in a restaurant management or leadership role
  • Current Manager's Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience using hospitality POS and staff rostering systems
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and responsible service requirements
  • Ability to analyse financial reports and improve operational performance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for hospitality and leading successful teams
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays
